Poets On Sunday: Thomas Carlyle

To-Day

So here hath been dawning
Another blue day;
Think will thou let it
Slip useless away?

White Popular

Out of Eternity
This new day is born.
Into Eternity
At night will return.

Sycamore

Behold it aforetime
No eye never did
So soon it forever
From all eyes is hid.

Common Teasel

Here hath been dawning
Another blue day;
Think, will thou let it
Slip useless away?

  1. Thanks for the nice reminder to take care of the time we are given. It’s been an (unseasonably) warm autumn here and great weather for cycling so I feel virtuous for getting out on the bike all last week. But today was rainy so I had to face the housework. Not fun but still virtuous – or so I like to think.
