Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons
As an avid bird watcher for me the most pronounced herald of the change of seasons is a change in the bird population. Both the colour of, and the type of birds changes throughout the year. This post is part of the Weekly Photo Challenge Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons
Me and ‘B’
The idea of this blog originally was, well, rather vague. I have always had a journal. Just that it wasn’t necessarily where thoughts on the day, month, minute (whatever) were recorded. No, instead it was really more of a book of … secrets, ideas, thoughts, stories, research. Over the years the topics have ranged rather widely — history, genealogy, DIY projects (I’ve never made). Recently … Continue reading Me and ‘B’
Daily Prompt: Childhood Revisited
My earliest memory is (Mom told me my age) when I was 2 1/2 years old. I can picture looking down on a road, with really tiny houses. It looked like a miniature, make-believe place. Mom said she found it difficult to remember me sitting at all for that final time back to Canada. At some point on the trip I guess I had been … Continue reading Daily Prompt: Childhood Revisited
The Baffin Island Yacht Club
I arrived in the ‘burbs of the “Big Smoke” (Toronto) as a refugee a year after the death of my Mom and a failed attempt at doing the web design thing full-time back in ‘Dodge’. After 9/11 the US tourist industry in the Haliburton/Muskoka region (aka Cottage Country) dried up significantly and since the Web firm I was freelancing for worked from there, so did my commissions. So being one always up for a challenge I packed all my things, grabbed Fred the Ficus and my felines and headed down the 401. Continue reading The Baffin Island Yacht Club
From flys to furry babies
I’m in need of some cheering up. So I decided to go into my collection of my photographs and post some of my favorite shots from over the years. Dates from, oh gosh, 3 years ago for some. All have so many good memories attached. So many great stories, or just WOW moments, some beautiful things…all for their own reasons. Continue reading From flys to furry babies
Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: LINES
Ok, so let’s try this again. Some of you received this post and what do your wondering eyes behold? Nothing. That is because I am composing these posts under less than ideal circumstances. First and foremost, getting my laser mouse to go where I want it to is a Jedi mind trick. My laser keyboard key’s stick, my OS for my Mac Mini is obsolete, … Continue reading Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: LINES
Moments & Months | July 27th 2012
The metamorphosis of a butterfly relates to well, even the whole idea of the Hero’s Journey, relates to that transformation from one thing to another. Yet in between there is the cocoon, or, sacred space ~ Temenos. Continue reading Moments & Months | July 27th 2012
Daily Prompt: Oasis
Into the lens of the camera I go when I have need of escape. Through my camera I can escape the realities of the day, week, month, year and just languish in the act of creativity. Gardening is a close second, but the winter months leave us gardeners edgy. However, with my camera I can appreciate the subtle beauty of winter. What leaves are left … Continue reading Daily Prompt: Oasis
Adventures in burgundy
Last couple days I have felt very uninspired. Why is it that as soon as we give ourselves license to dream all of a sudden we become paralyzed. Fear? Perhaps. I don’t know. So yesterday I went back out after I walked Irish and decided to look at the world around me in a new way. I took the “color swap” feature and switched out … Continue reading Adventures in burgundy

Crow Stories
Twelve years ago in the year 2000, I was working at a Call Centre and my shift at that time started at 6 AM. I would walk to work the 45minutes, getting up at 4 AM, leaving at 5 AM, grabbing my Coffee at the Tim Horton’s on the way and getting to work for 5:45 AM. I was a busy girl. It was the … Continue reading Crow Stories
What dreams may come
Ok, so I too dream of being a writer. Which I suppose in this venue is akin to admitting you like flying at a flight school. More on that later. First, a couple of stories. I always thought that writers wrote fiction. Scholars and famous people wrote Memoirs and such. Who would want to read about little old me and my life? Yet, why not. … Continue reading What dreams may come
Fred the Ficus showed me “the way”
Fred the Ficus is, of course, a rescue. Yes, I even save the odd houseplant that SOMEONE has tossed out ON THE BACK PORCH {my sister}. So poor Fred was out there all alone in the dark on her back porch; out back where they parked the cars and stored the garbage. I can still picture him. All alone and so sad-looking. He was mostly … Continue reading Fred the Ficus showed me “the way”
