Mornings hold promises – maybe a fresh beginning, a change in the weather, or a new opportunity to learn something new, or meet someone new, or perhaps the very blessing of getting to wake up. The coffee in hand, next stop is my little stoop for my morning cylinder of sin. Once java’d up and awake, Irish begins her morning dance…the dance leads out the … Continue reading Weekly Photo Challenge: Good Morning
My days have shifted, and I’m currently working afternoons. I’m a morning person, therefore I find myself restless; to the benefit of Irish who gets her walk in the morning instead of the evening. Yesterday my world was covered in a mist of fog, creating a soft morning light. Irish and I hadn’t been out for a walk in the morning in ages, since probably … Continue reading In the Misty Morning Light

This Church is our local Presbyterian. The corner stone was laid in 1889 and the first service was held that December. These photos are taken approximately a mile apart. One from the meadow I walk in and where I took the Carefree Doggy shots, and the other from the community trail from the other side. I took a chance yesterday, and she has learned to listen…plus she LOVES this spot and I know that soon enough we’ll be in the city and she won’t have access to such a beautiful and secluded spot. It’s a huge open … Continue reading Carefree Doggy
I walk past this farm on my short block walk. The family who owns it have farmed here for decades. It now sits at the edge of a new subdivision, and so I very much enjoy this part of the walk, as it offers a small glimpse into this villages past. A secret little grove in the trees – the red bits you see are … Continue reading Meanderings of August

There is a place I roam, a short walk away from my back door. After the quiet village streets, the little forested glen charms you. It leads past old apple trees, young oaks and majestic Maples, through a twisty and almost sentient and hopeful forest. Up the grassy hill you are drawn. It’s said this place is haunted. Yet I believe it’s merely been wounded. … Continue reading Thru The Enchanted Glen
She stood so still, I wasn’t sure at first if I was seeing things or not. I can’t see so well anymore far away. Something inside me said it was a living thing, standing there on the other side of the field of corn. I took this first photo not sure if I was photographing an old pile of scrap wood, or a big beautiful … Continue reading The Deer And I
